Mt. Manaslu (8,163 meters/ 26,781 ft.), is the 8th highest mountain in the world. Toshio Norbu who was a Janapese traveler first conquered the expedition on May 9, 1956. The Mt. Manaslu is located in the northern Himalayan of Nepal, Gorkha District. It is a toothed wall of snow and ice hanging in the sky. The Mt. Manaslu Expedition was legally approved in 1991.
The Manaslu Conservation Area is covered by the National Trust for Nature Conservation of Nepal after the declaration in December 1998 under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act. The prime intention of this act is to help to safeguard and preserve natural resources sustainably wish list to encourage rich cultural heritage together while promoting ecotourism and improve the livelihood of the indigenous people residing in this region".
Mt. Manaslu is a popular trekking destination among other trekking circuits in Nepal. Mt. Manaslu Base Camp is located at an elevation of 4750 m. Mt. Manaslu expedition flows the trail of Buri Gandaki valley up to Camagoan. The Buri Gandaki origins form the Mt. Manaslu Himalayas range. The Mt. Manaslu expedition camp follows an altitude of 5700 meters at Camp I, 6400 meters at Camp II, Camp II at an elevation of 6800 meters, and Camp IV at 7400 meters. The challenges and obstacles throughout this trek offer a magnificent view of the highest mountains in the world like Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri.
Manaslu trek takes you into the less trodden and unspoiled mountain trails. The trek promotes a variety of cultural and biological involvement. You can see high-altitude glacial lakes. Nubri and Tsum are the main ethnic groups found in this region. The region has a rich culture, tradition, festivals, and arts. People in this region are distinctly Buddhist. Mt. Manaslu has been well known among trekkers after an inaugural expedition by H.W. Tilman.
This region covers six climatic zones which are tropical, sub-tropical, temperate zone, sub-alpine zone, alpine zone, meadows, and arctic zone ranging from an elevation of 1,000 meters to 4,500 meters.
The other central attraction of the Mt. Manaslu expedition includes sightseeing the majestic peaks like Himalchuli (7,893 m/25,896 ft.), Langpo (6,668 m/ 21,877 ft.), Shringi (7,187 m/ 23,579 ft.), and Saula (6,235 m /20,456 ft.)
Extreme elevation and avalanches make the Mt. Manaslu expedition difficult. We are well equipped with trained and professional guides and medical personnel. We can manage immediate evacuation and assistance at the time of serious distress, injury, or sickness. Our guide provides you with adequate information and guidelines on dos and don’ts regarding the excursion.
Day 1
Our representatives receive and escort you to the hotel. Take a rest at the hotel and allocate information about the trip. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2
We spend our time exploring some attractive UNESCO World Heritage sites inside Kathmandu Valley. Further, we will engage in preparing all the necessary paperwork for our expedition. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3
We drive to Soti Khola- Arughat after taking breakfast. The scenic drive with hills and rivers entertains us all the way. We drive around 9-10 hours to reach Soti Khola
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4
We march from Soti Khola, cross the bridge, climb the big rock and then descend to the bank of the Budi Gandaki River. We move forward to the Gurung village of Labishe (880m) then finally arrive at Machha Khola after 5-6 hour travel. Overnight at the Lodge
Day 5
We take breakfast and head along the course of Buri Gandaki River. After a few hours of trekking, we reach the trails that lead us to the village of Jagat. Jagat is a commonplace to collect tax for trade to and from Tibet.

Day 6
We proceed to Setibas from Jagat. We can see multiple beautifully decorated Mani walls. Then, we march up and head to the stone houses of Ghatta Khola and onwards Philim. We descend through grassy slopes and cross Buri Gandaki. We reach the tiny region Deng passing through bamboo forests after 6-7 hours of hike. Here, we encounter the Gurung ethnic community and Buddhist culture.

Day 7
We take early breakfast and follow the trails that take us to Namrung. In between, we pass a Ghap, a small village known for the Mani wall. We go through dense bamboo and rhododendron forest to reach Namrung. Namrung is a lovely village with a stony house. We walk for 6-7 hours to reach our destination. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 8
Today, we have to walk for 5- 6 hours to reach our beautiful destination Samagaon. We cross Thrang River, a scattered village of Barchha, and Lihi to reach SAmagaon. Our journey covers the appealing view of Hinan River, Mt. Manaslu, and Himal Chuli. After following the trails on Numla River we can finally sum up our journey in the extensive pastures and fields of Samagaon. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 9
We stay at Samagaon for Acclimatization. We have to avoid any mental and physical sickness to ensure our hike to the summit of Mt. Manaslu. Altogether with acclimatization, we visit and explore Pung Gyen Gumba and their surroundings. Overnight at lodge.
Day 10
After completion of one day rest at Samagaon, we climb steeply over the glacier debris. Our trails take us to the sacred and beautiful glacial lake- Birendra Kund. Birendra Kund has a mesmerizing reflection of Mt. Manaslu. An uphill trek of 3-4 hours with necessary rest takes us to the Base Camp where we set up tents of our night stay. Overnight at Tented camp.
Day 11-35
We invest our days doing a climbing training session for adequate acclimatization. We make ready all the necessary climbing gears with the help of our Sherpa crew. Once we finish all the preparation we follow our climbing experts. We have a feasible study of weather and accordingly, we move upwards to the Mt.Manaslu. A spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, Himal Chuli, Manaslu North and sightseeing of high mountains blows our mind. We spend quality time at the summit of the Mt. Manaslu and fall back to the same trail to the base camp. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 36
We then return to the Samagaon after successfully achieving our goals- conquering the Mt. Manaslu summit. We trace back the same trail and reach the Samagaon. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 37
We march for 3-4 hours to reach Samdo. Our trail runs north and parallel to Budi Gandaki. We keep our touch with the summer herding region of Khormo Kharka. We enjoy the magnificent view of Manaslu and climb uphill and then descend to reach Samdo. Samdo is known for having Tibetan settlements. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 38
We follow the descending trails, cover the Gyala River, and climb to Larkya Bazaar. We can captivate ourselves with the astonishing view of Larkya Peak and north Manaslu. A duration of 5- 6 hours walk guides us to the Larkya Pedhi. Overnight at tea house/ Lodge.
Day 39
Todays’ trek becomes lengthy compared to the previous one, 8-9hours walk. The trails guide to the ridge and take us to the top of the moraine (4,690 m). We then climb steeply to the top of Larkya Pass (5,135 m). From Larkya Pass, we can have amazing views of Himlung, Mwnjung, Cheo Himal, Gyangi Kan, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. We have to descend the trails covered with snow to reach Bimtang.Overnight at the lodge
Day 40
We follow the trail descending through pine and rhododendron forest to Hompuk and Dudh Khola. The trail is affected by a large landslide, especially the scattered settlement of Kharche. We move downhill toward the large village of Gurung Community Tilije. And finally, we cross over the suspension bridge over the river Marsyangdi to reach the Dharapani. It takes 7-8 hours of a walk for us to reach Dharapani. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 41
We take early breakfast and catch the trail that climbs up and reaches the village of Tal. The village is situated at the foot of a large waterfall. We proceed toward Chyamje and after 5-6 hours treks, we are at our final destination Syange. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 42
We drive for around 8-9 hours from Syange and reach Kathmandu city. The hillside and Zigzag roads have a beautiful landscape, river, and farming land to entertain us. Overnight at the hotel/resort.
Day 43
We take a rest at Kathmandu city and visit heritage sites in the late afternoon. In the late-night, we spend our time in Thamel pubs for relaxation and entertainment.
Overnight at hotel and farewell dinner.
Day 44
We take morning food at first and then our representatives guide you to the airport. We hope to meet again someday for further exploration.

(1) Physical Fitness
Climbing the mountain above 6000 is one of the challaning and technical job. Climbing the highest mountain demands great physical fitness, Climbing skills so before climbing the big mountain One should be physically fit and mentally prepared, One should have previous experience climbing on fixed lines, steep snow climbing experience and be used with crevasee walking techniques.It is long hiking and climbing so without any training you will not be able to achieve your goal. So some basic physical fitness like squat, Mountain climbers ( which can be done in home),running,biking , stair climbing,and swiming will help lot to do trekking in the mountains, so it is highly recommanded 2/3 months prior to your departure for the trekking and Mountaineering but for Mountaineering one should take training of climbing, and one should climb some small peaks atleast of 6500 Mtr high peak and mountain for proper acclimatization as well as to be adjust with gears, snow etc.
(2)Foods and Drinks
While in the mountain, it is highly recommanded you to drink plenty of fluids like water,soups, teas as well as foods. We will provide the sufficient and hygiene food as per your choice in whole trek.In the basecamp during the climbing period, there will be well facilities of food, drinks, and many other snacks always on the table.
(3)Drinking water
One should drink at least 3-4 litres of water every day in order to get hydrated the body which helps lot to be away from altitude sickness. While in Climbing we will have our own kitchen crew, so we will have properly treated water to fill up the bottle always on the table.
(4)Best time to Climb ( Weather)
Although Spring ( Mar-May) is considered as best period to climb the Mountains ,it is after the Winter and pre Monsoon season. But in the case of Mount Manaslu the best timing is considered in Mid of Sep to Mid of October.The best weather to summit the top of Manaslu is second week of October, after the full preparation and route fixed. This is season after the long monsoon so Until end of october, the tempreture will be mild cold. Weather will be stable with clear blue sky and dry.
5) Altitude Sickness
For the Manaslu climbing we do proper acclimatization with rotation between Basecamp and Camp 1, Camp 2 and camp 3. One dont go directly to the top, It takes Min 20 days to rotation climb for proper acclimatization. First to Camp 1, Camp 2 , Camp 3, Camp 4 and finally summit.In high altitude , the mass of oxygen will be less, so everyone feels difficult to breath as well as mild headache, dizziness etc.This is one of the biggest challanges in mountain.In the altitude, there are many rules to make our body adaptable to the altitude. Acclimatization is one of the important factor to adjust our body get used to the altitude. All the climbing itineries are designed with proper acclimatization. and The most important rules that we have to follow in altitude is walk slowly, keep drinking plenty of fluids as water , soups etc to make our body hydrated, and keep our body warm. Our staffs and guide will always do their best as they can.
(6)Travel Insurance
It is compulsory to buy the proper travel insurance policy with genuine insurance company, it should cover the emergency helicopter evacuation as well as medical treatment incase of severe injury or sickness and Policy should include coverage at the altitudes up to 8000Mtr.
(7)Bag pack and duffel bag
Only the neccesary things should be packed and the stuffs which are not neccesary on trek and climbing will be stored in hotel in Kathmandu.All the climbing gears should be managed by oneself according to instruction by company. Except trekking gears all the climbing gears are transported before your arrival in basecamp.
(8)Internet Connectivity and cell phone Signal
As per your arrival in Kathmandu airport, there you can buy nepalese Sim card ncell or you can buy anywhere around city. In Manaslu region Ncell signal doesnt work well but the internet facilities is good in basecamp. so You can enjoy with social media or connects with your family, friends or loved one while on climbing.
(9)Flight to Samagaun by hellicopter
All our climbing crews and kitchen crews with supplies will go before one month to basecamp to arrange and setup the camps. They go by trekking route taking few days. But climbing members will be transported directly to Samagaun by helicopter. Samagaun is the legend place just below the Manaslu basecamp. We spent two nights in Samagau then head on basecamp.
(10)Sanitation
while in the mountain we should share the toilet using by everyone else. In climbing period,We will have good facilities of washing water and toilet papers but we highly recommend to take hand sanitizer by yourself and most importantly toilet papers or wet tissue paper with you always.
(11)Government permits and National park permit
To enter in Manaslu region and climbing the Climbing the Mt manaslu we have to buy several permits as Manaslu conservation Area project permit,Manaslu trekking permit,Tsum valley trekking permit and climbing permit. All the permit cost will be included in trip cost.Your company will arrange and manage everything.For the permit You have to provide some passport photos and copy of passport.
(12)Guiding and staffing
For climbing always should start early before sun hit on. You have to wake up quite early in the morning in order to get to destination before sun hit. When the sun rised due to reflection of snow it will be too hard to climb and walk.Your experieced sherpa guide will always be there to help you in every moment.Guide is the key factor for the every challanging in mountain so one should follow the instruction of guide pleasantly.
(13) Budgeting
Budegeting depends upon many factors specially in Kathmandu where there are too many choices.Hotels in Kathmandu include in trip cost on basis of BB plan. So average expenses per day in Kathmandu will be Rs 2000 for lunch and Dinner, if you prefer some other activities as drinks, to do massage, or to go in bar/pub Rs 5000 ( equivalent to USD 50 ) is enough. On the trek as well as during the climbing period, all the meals and hot drinks will be provided by company, On the trek Extra expeses as Hot shower, battery charging, wifi, extra snacks bars, Soft drinks and hard drinks should borne by oneself,In average Rs 2000(eqivalent to 20 USD) is enough on the trek. Finally few tipping is highly recomended and compulsory after the succesful expedition to your guide and staffs who did great services to you.
13) Medical kit
Your company will manage the proper medical kit with varieties of medicenes but those who are having medicene for particular cause since over the period of time, It is better to bring yourself.
